Welcome Weekend

Here at OBU, we do something interesting. We help the students move in. On Saturday before school starts, parents & students pull up to the dorm they are moving into and we ATTACK their car. We sing the school song and jump on the car, greet the family and then begin labeling all their stuff with post-it notes with their room #. People run like it's a race, to unload the car and get all their stuff up to their rooms.
It's just craziness! And also amazing with their servant hearts & attitudes.
The parents are overwhelmed, b/c they thought it would take forever and then the mom's usually cry.
Tis' a sweet thing.
And after we finish one car, we move onto the next.
I'm so thankful Move in day....only lasted one day, because it almost killed me.
Then on Sunday, the campus was flooded with a torrential downpour and hurricane touched down in Oklahoma-which pretty much never happens and roads were closed and some school districts even had to cancel the first day of school.
How's that for beginning a school year?
Well, by Sunday night, the roads were fine, so I drove to the OKC to have dinner with my bff, Anna. We ate the largest chicken fried steak, I have ever seen. Man, it was good.
