Spring Cleaning

So with my roomie Karen moving back to the states, i'm left with an empty house and lots of junk. It's not that it was all Karen's. Many people have lived in this house in the past 2 1/2 years and all of them left their junk here. I don't know why. So i decided to clean it out and throw a bunch of it. I mean if they haven't needed it within the past year, my rule is throw it away!

I am going to move back to the states during the hottest darn time of the year in india. so i am trying to do what i can- NOW! i don't want to be faced with 100 degree rooms inside my house going through someone else's junk and trying to pack my bags and close up this chapter of my life all at one time.

have i used the word junk enough in those paragraphs? ok so, i am going to let you in a secret of m---aries around the world.

are you sure you are ready for this?

we hoard stuff! it just happens to you when you live in place where you can't get stuff very easily, we reuse ziplock bags, of course we wash and dry them first, but we reuse them.

we save food, we get packages in the mail of all this great stuff from america that would cost us a fortune, but instead of using it right away, we save it. we bring soup packets, ranch mix, taco seasoning, cajun seasoning, barbecue seasoning, spaghetti packets, meat marinades, mac & cheese packets, pudding kool aid, gatorade and jello.

it's as if we think we might actually starve if we live in another country.

I've got news for you, we won't.

why do we save stuff? i don't know. something about having it and wanting to keep it for later, for a special occasion, a party, you know something really good.

then when it's time for us to go home, we are faced with using up all this stuff we have saved, because we didn't want to run of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i mean isn't that 1. RIDICULOUS 2. DUMB 3. SILLY 4. CRAZY??????

well i think it is, but i am GUILTY too!

over the past 4 months, k-dub and i have tried to use up alot of stuff and we given tons to our helper and lots to family here on the field that are career people.

but we still have too much.

I been cleaning, rearranging, throwing away and organizing. it's been a hot and dirty job, but sometimes you just have to suck it up and take care of business.

i cleaned the kitchen cabinets and counters, bedrooms, office, living room and bathrooms.
